Susan G. Komen® to Deliver Urgent Message at Second Annual October Party in Pink Event: “Ending Deaths from Breast Cancer is Within Our Grasp; Together We Will Make it Happen”

Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, is doubling down on its mission “to end deaths from breast cancer” and rallying supporters at its second annual Party in Pink in NYC on October 14th. The event is Komen’s largest opportunity for corporate leaders and philanthropists to commit critical support for people facing breast cancer today and in the future.

This year alone, an estimated 321,910 women and 2,670 men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer. For the first time, incidence is rising at a faster rate for women under 50 than over 50 and younger women are being diagnosed with more aggressive and faster growing cancers than older women.

Despite significant advances in detection and treatment, a woman in the U.S. is still expected to die from breast cancer approximately every 12 minutes and nearly 43,000 people will die from breast cancer this year.

Funds raised at the signature event fuel Susan G. Komen’s comprehensive mission to advance lifesaving research, advocate for policies that improve access to care and provide direct support to patients and their families. Every person, no matter where they live, can access the Komen Patient Care Center to receive tailored services, including financial assistance to those who cannot afford everyday living expenses while in treatment; navigation services to guide patients through appointments, treatment and follow-up care; emotional support and connection to local breast health services. Komen has the resources to provide financial assistance to 12,000 individuals this year but expects the demand to outpace available funding.

The following organizations have committed to supporting Party in Pink 2026: Accenture, Blackstone Charitable Foundation, Gilead Oncology, GoldenTree Asset Management, Orchard Global, J. Crew and Thomas PINK.

“It has never been more important to invest in the care, services and research that will allow us to save more lives from breast cancer as a joint responsibility to our families, communities and co-workers,” said Ed Dandridge, chair of Komen’s Board of Directors, EVP and chief marketing and communications officer at AIG. “Party in Pink is more than a gala – it is a powerful example of what can happen when our community comes together to fight for a world where no one dies from breast cancer. I am grateful to our donors, co-chairs and the influential leaders in their fields who are lending their voices, networks and support to impact more lives.
