BMG Introduces Media Command™, a New Managed Media Operations Platform

One platform for recording, media asset management, playout, archiving, and compliance, managed 24/7 by BMG engineers.

We built Media Command because our clients should be spending their time on content, not infrastructure.”

— Todd Mason, Chief Executive Officer of Broadcast Management Group

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, October 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Broadcast Management Group (BMG), a leading managed services provider for broadcast video production, today introduced Media Command™, a private cloud broadcast platform that integrates recording, media asset management (MAM), channel playout, archiving, and compliance into a single system. BMG operates Media Command 24/7 from its Network Operations Center (NOC), and clients subscribe as part of a BMG managed services contract.

TAMS: THE FOUNDATION OF MEDIA COMMAND™

Media Command is built on TAMS (Time Addressable Media Store), an open API originally developed at BBC R&D. Media is stored as short, addressable segments and referenced rather than copied, enabling teams to create clips and highlights for social media from a live event in near real time. Because editors work with time ranges rather than full copies, clients avoid the duplicate files that conventional workflows create for editing, archiving, proxy, and distribution.

WHY BMG BUILT MEDIA COMMAND™

Most media organizations run six to ten separate systems to record, store, search, and play out their content. Each system requires its own vendor and support hours, and each one slows the next task. Conventional builds often add a separate deployment for every client, and those costs are passed on through vendor billing. “We built Media Command because our clients should be spending their time on content, not infrastructure,” said Todd Mason, Chief Executive Officer of Broadcast Management Group. “Running on our multitenant private cloud platform is how we keep quality high, efficiency optimized, and costs down. We built the opposite of the conventional approach, and the savings land with our clients.”

WHAT MEDIA COMMAND DELIVERS

• Record: Multi-format ingest, including SMPTE ST 2110, SRT, RTMP, JPEG-XS, and SDI facility feeds, with indexing upon arrival.
• MAM: Search, organize, and access assets from anywhere, with Premiere and DaVinci Resolve plug-ins, and edit while content is still being recorded.
• Playout: Direct-to-air playout with automation and monitoring, delivered via SRT, RTMP, JPEG-XS, and MPEG-TS.
• Archive: Long-term retention on immutable storage.
• Compliance: As-run logs, captions, SCTE-35 and SCTE-104 markers, missing-content lists, and compliance recording.
• Security: Single sign-on, role-based access control, and a detailed audit trail.

DELIVERED AS A MANAGED SERVICES CONTRACT

Media Command is delivered under a BMG-managed services contract:
1. Discovery: BMG engineers map the current systems, channels, and workflows.
2. Pilot: Media Command runs alongside existing equipment on content, with no cutovers.
3. Go live: Media Command moves the channel by channel according to a schedule, and the BMG NOC assumes operations.

Clients work with a single vendor and a single escalation path, backed by 24/7 NOC North America based support team. No on-site support engineers are required.

HOSTED IN THE BMG CLOUD CONTROL CENTER™

Media Command runs in the BMG Cloud Control Center™, a private, purpose-built, multitenant broadcast cloud operated by BMG in facilities BMG owns. Capacity is secured and isolated for each client. Media is not hosted in a public cloud region or on shared hyperscale infrastructure. Security policies are available to financial institutions and federal agencies. Isolation is native; your data is siloed within the platform.

FLEXIBLE COMMERCIAL MODELS: OPX AND CAPX

Clients choose the model that fits their budget. Both models are delivered under the same managed services contract, with BMG operating and supporting the platform:

• OpX (operating expense): A predictable monthly subscription with no upfront capital investment and no usage-based charges.

• CapX (capital expense): For clients who prefer to invest capital in their platform, BMG structures that investment and runs the operation. The annual license includes software and support.

PRICING: FULL ACCESS, NOT USAGE-BASED

Media Command is not priced by usage. Clients get full access to the platform 24/7, and pricing is based on user count, feature tier, and storage capacity, not by hours. Clients can budget with confidence because they are not billed for each hour of use.
